Comment in Context: Assisted Suicide or Abortion

I wonder what takes place in our minds that makes us want to change laws, morality and society

Comment in Context: Assisted Suicide or Abortion

We cannot play God, nor should we begin to think that we can even comment. Jesus told us we would do greater things than he. That included healing.

Is the collective unbelief worse now than it was in comparison to Jesus’ time? Are our leaders training us into believing we're powerless in every area of faith?

No matter how articulate a Reverend may be, the Bible still says he is wrong. We do not have the right to end anybody's life only God does. In James 5:14 we are told to request that the elders attend us if we are sick and that they are to anoint us with oil that we may be healed and our sins will be forgiven.

We should be praying for the sick, not helping them to die because a few faithless Christian choose to opt out or think that they have a superior intellectual argument that can ‘brow-beat’ another in to agreement.

And Jesus was amazed at their unbelief (Mark 6:6)

Looking at this from a non-biblical world view, one could say why shouldn’t anyone have the choice to do what they want with their lives? Surely it is humane and cheaper all round if they were to die and not keep hemorrhaging money to look after them!

Big caveat though! The Bible makes many mentions in the old Testament about pagans and Jews worshiping Baal, erecting Ashtoreth poles and sacrificing children and babies.

Not only do we have the ability to kill babies in the womb but also have prominent Christian leaders such as Desmond Tutu and Lord Carey endorsing assisted suicide, so now we have both ends of life termination. It is written: 1 Corinthians 8:9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak.

The Bible First

As Christians, we should be advocating the Bible, not siding with those of the world and accepting that anything goes.

Will anyone in authority accept the blame for the deterioration in our society when changes are made to God’s Word that illustrates time and time again that we are being thought of as worthless and they think of themselves as superior?

Perhaps it a bit like agreeing to go to war.  Politicians rarely ever pick up a gun and kill someone themselves.  I feel its the same as assisted suicide.  Will those who are attempting to pass this bill ever inject the syringe or hand over the pill?

Path to Salvation

Because Jesus died on the cross and rose again, he paved a way for you so that you can be forgiven of all the things you have done wrong, and that you find the true meaning of life. Since you have lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain, etc., you have violated God’s law, which will result in punishment. But the good news is that God loves you and that He doesn’t want you to be condemned to hell, therefore He sent His son Jesus to take your punishment.

If you turn away from your transgressions and accept this forgiveness through baptism under water you will then receive the Holy Spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues. This means that sin, which separates you from God, will disappear and you will, by the Holy Spirit, experience a living relationship with God, as we read in the Bible.

A supernatural relationship starts here and continues in heaven. The only way to heaven is through Jesus, which you can accept today.
